A meeting is planned in Bridgeport to discuss reviving Camp Clarke Day to mark the 81st anniversary of the Camp Clarke toll bridge opening on May 14 1876. The event connected traffic on the Deadwood Trail and served Indian agencies north of the North Platte through Wyoming Nebraska and South Dakota.

A motion to set aside an order to show cause for a grand jury investigation petition was filed in Morrill County District Court. The case concerns the Christmas morning shooting death of Jacob Pretty Cloud by Bridgeport night patrolman John Williston. Judge C C Perry has not ruled and is handling jury term matters in Gering.

Maj. Gen. Warren Wood of the 34th National Guard Division presided at the dedication of Sidney Nebr nascent Co. K armory costing 189000 dollars. Col William Bachman recalled his enlistment here in 1934 and Lt. Col Hans Holtdorf swore in 12 new recruits as certificates of commendation were awarded to local media.

Deadline Set for 1957 Cheyenne County License Plates

County agent Ivan Liljegren warns Cheyenne County wheat could face cutworm problems again this year. Samples from across the county, kept at room temperature, show potential infestation. damage appears as tiny leaf pinholes in five to ten days. Early spraying is not advised now. a test on the Burgett Peetz farm will start with Wednesday spraying and weekly follow ups.

National 4-H Week Set for March Observance

Nebraska 4-H enrollments reached a state record of 30,248 youth, up 5.25 percent from 1955, led by 11,706 in clothing and 11,319 in food preparation projects. The 4-H Week, March 29, will focus on improving family and community living as members review activities and plan future work. Beef leads agricultural projects with dairy next in line.

Slaughterhouse Charge Filed Against Lodgepole Man

Lodgepole resident Herman Florke was named in a Cheyenne County Court complaint for operating and maintaining an unlicensed slaughter house. Cheyenne County Attorney Pat Heaton Jr. said A J Affleck of Lincoln reported the case from the Nebraska Department of Agriculture and Inspection. Florke allegedly butchered cattle in Lodgepole and sold meat commercially.

Airman Fined $100 For Drinking Driving

A 27 year old airman from Warren Air Force Base was fined 100 dollars and costs in Cheyenne County Court this morning. Glen D. Holmes pleaded guilty to driving while under the influence of alcoholic liquor. Holmes was arrested around noon Saturday after he drove a car into the eastern city limits of Sidney.

Village and School Caucuses Scheduled Across Counties

Village caucuses set for tomorrow night in Cheyenne County along with school district caucuses in all villages except Dalton. Sidney has no caucus this year. Terms expiring include Police Judge Glenn Greenlee and several village and school board members. Meetings: Lodgepole Goodview School, Potter Legion Hall at 7 p.m., Dalton 7:30 p.m. in city hall.
