Seagull Alarm Clock Trains Gull as Morning Wakeup at Golden Gate Park
Grace D. Chuimus at the Donat house in Golden Gate Park trains a seagull nicknamed Rouser to act as a morning alarm. Every morning at 6:80 the gull taps the window with its bill, prompting seeds to be scattered. After breakfast the bird flies to the lake, returning for more seeds if hungry. Local onlookers enjoy watching gulls snatch food from the water, while Mrs. Ohnimus notes gulls' voracious appetites and easy training with sunflower seeds as the favored diet.
