New Sidney Postoffice to Begin Service Next Monday
Postmaster W. L. Larson announced that Sidney will start service from the Ninth avenue and Illinois street postoffice next Monday morning. Patrons are urged to secure keys today or Saturday as Sunday will be busy moving equipment. Sunday morning mail goes to the old boxes and Sunday night mail to the new building. All mail depots will transfer Sunday evening and box numbers may change to speed handling.

Western Nebraska received a light snowfall easing concerns for winter wheat. In Sidney about a tenth of an inch of moisture fell from roughly an inch of snow, with light snow continuing through Wednesday. Air mail was delayed by snow and fog but rail and highway traffic remained open. Temperatures near 10 degrees above zero did not hinder travel or rail operations. Two Are Arrested on Theft Charges Here
Robert Loebe and Andrew Hemmer were arrested here Wednesday in connection with the theft of magnets from Allis-Chalmers Manufacturing a year ago. Loebe, already jailed for assault and battery, was served at the courthouse. Hemmer was arraigned and released on bond. Seven magnetos were taken. five recovered.
