New Flag for Sid ney North Ward Elementary School
The Auxiliary to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 610 met with 20 members. They voted to buy a new outdoor flag for Sid ney North Ward elementary school and consider flags for other projects. The group sent the old 48 Star flag to Lincoln for use in the new VFW and Auxiliary headquarters building. A $5 gift supported Department President's project for VA hospital equipment and $3 for Radio Free Europe. New members Ada Seevers and Mae Plum joined, Howard Emerson reinstated. Membership reached 75, 100 percent of goal. Bredi-Mix sold as fund raiser. Nelson guided Cancer Fund sales at state convention in Lincoln. Attendance prize won by Nelson, donated to flag fund.
