Sidney on Council appoints 47 year old podiatrist Dr Garcia to fill unexpired term of Vince Maliszewski. Garcia previously served on the council in 1971 72 and has since worked as National Health Adviser for HEW. He is undecided about filing for spring election. he and his wife Irene have six children.

Cattlemen Agree to Study Consolidation Plan Between NLFA and ANCA

At the NLFA 31st annual convention in Omaha members voted to study a plan of consolidation with ANCA. A five member from each group panel will report by Oct 1, with a final plan due Jan 1, 1977. If approved, ANCA votes next January and NLFA in February. ANCA has over 14,000 members.

Mild Temps Turn Cooler Across Nebraska

The weekend forecast calls for milder winter days than usual, as a cold front travels through Nebraska from the Kansas border curving toward the Panhandle. High pressure in North Dakota ushers cooler air, with clear to partly cloudy skies and temperatures from the mid 40s in the west to the upper 40s to 50s in the west central area. Lows tonight expected in the 20s and Saturday highs in the 50s in the west and 40s to 50s in the east, with northerly winds 5 to 15 mph. Thermo scan to map Sidney roof heat loss over city
