Equipment installation at Independent Cable Inc. Sidney plant continues this week as management aims to begin production on the first line late next month. Plant manager Roger Price oversees insulation coating and cable assembly processes in the 100,000 square foot facility slated to fully staff by late 1974 or early 1975 with about 150 workers.

Truckers Extend Nebraskas Strike Through Wednesday

About 40 independent truckers from eastern Nebraska voted in Lincoln to keep the driving strike going until Wednesday. They elected Jim Beetman as chairman and plan county groups while seeking fuel price rollback, nationwide licensing, higher speed limits, and uniform wage laws.

Nebraska Army National Guard reports January enlistments totaling 84, lifting overall strength to 88.4 percent of authorized. Hearing Set Tuesday on County Road Improvements

County road program hearings will review an estimated 275 500 in improvements.
