Winter Blizzard Disrupts Sidney Nebraska Activities

A severe Wednesday blizzard hit Sidney Nebraska with strong winds and heavy snow causing blocked streets and stopped streetcar service. Residents rallied to clear paths and assist in daily chores while events and visits were postponed or altered due to the storm.

Government Opens New Kinkaid Land Entries in Cheyenne and Deuel

Following withdrawals for irrigation appraisal, lands in township 17 range 41 and townships 18 ranges 41 42 were released for entry on February 5. Many Kieth and Denel County settlers expanded original entries to reach 640 acres. A March 1 opening will include townships 19 ranges 46 47 and related sections across Cheyenne and Deuel counties along the North Platte, likely to attract many homesteaders.

Birthday Anniversary at Methodist Parsonage

Friends of Rev and Mrs Hageman raided the Methodist parsonage Tuesday to celebrate Mrs Hagemans birthday anniversary. They arrived with food and coins to form a neat purse for the hostess and spent several hours in merry fellowship wishing many happy returns. The Telegraph notes it offers funds blanks under the Kinkaid law.
