The Cheyenne County ASC invites the public to view Educational TV Network films titled The Eleventh Round from 8 to 8 30 p m Thursdays starting Feb 12 at the ASC office 11th and Alvarado in Sidney Channel 13 Alliance will carry the programs with a color set provided. The five telecasts cover Feb 12 19 26 and March 5 11 and include discussions on farm problems and policy for the 1970s with NU and other Plains universities.

The Supreme Court approves a merger of Great Northern Northern Pacific and Burlington to create a 26000 mile system. At Alliance on the Burlington mainline freight trains are expected to bring five or six families, offsetting some loss from discontinued passenger service. Earl Lessig of Gurley won the Lions District 38N gubernatorial race over Zeke Sadi of North Platte by 48 to 16 at the Chadron district meeting. Cheyenne County clubs backed the candidate. Heavy Demand Shown On Calves At Sidney Sale
Cattle prices tapered but remained strong at the Sidney Live Stock Sales Pavilion on Saturday. Top prices included 13 black steers 460 lbs at 38.30, 13 black heifers 460 lbs at 34.37, and 33 whiteface heifers 415 lbs at 34.90, with several groups of steers and heifers trading near the high 30s and low 40s. Angus first call heifers sold at 260.

Dalton Barber Injured In Auto Mishap Near Bridgeport
Gene Hartman a barber at Dalton was seriously injured Thursday night in an automobile accident near Bridgeport. He swerved to avoid a deer on Highway 385 struck a light pole and his car was demolished. He crawled from the wreck and was taken to Bridgeport hospital.
