The Panhandle County Officials Association holds an all day quarterly session in the Legion Hall Alliance next Wednesday February 14 chaired by Geo Fleming of Sidney. Sidney School Board Advances New Elementary Building Plans
The Sidney School Board filed a building permit for a 276000 dollar elementary school on Linden Street between 16th and 17th Avenues. Bids for construction will be opened March 5 with completion aimed September 1 for the 1951-1952 term. Labor Supply Near Balance in Sidney Area
Labor demand eased after a busy start to January while supply moved toward balance in Sidney. Nebraska State Employment Service manager Francis Hiner says by end January workers may soon be scarce especially among unskilled and agricultural labor. 1,386 people contacted the office in January, with 100 women and 210 veterans among them, while unemployment claims remained low.

Truckload Of Hogs Strikes School Bus Near Browns
A truckload of hogs crashed into a Sioux Ordnance Depot school bus nine miles west of Sidney on Highway 30. The driver fell asleep. the bus was empty except for the driver Clarence Miller. No injuries occurred among people or hogs. Damages were heavy about $1,000 for the hog truck and $400 for the bus. The fire that started on the hog truck was put out by the drivers, Deputy Sheriff Arnold Braasch reported.
