Wheat Growers Restate Stand On Aid Plans

At the Spokane convention the Wheat Growers Association reaffirmed support for domestic parity for wheat and opposed Secretary Benson’s bid for more price flexibility. The committee chaired by Kenneth Kendrick urged strengthening the conservation reserve, moving more wheat to feed channels, and freezing the price at $2 a bushel. They oppose flexing prices between 60 and 90 percent of parity, calling it ineffective. Western Nebraska farmers from Chappell and Dalton attend as officers may be elected and international talks urged for next fall.
