Definition of bootlegger is desired by attorneys

That a bootlegger is a person selling liquor carrying it for sale offering it for sale or taking orders for the delivery of it was the definition favored by members of the county attorneys association at their annual convention at Lincoln Friday. The attorneys passed resolutions favoring legislation permitting trial judges to comment on evidence in criminal cases to repeal the separate trial statute for criminal cases and permitting county attorneys to comment on failure of defendant to testify. The attorneys went on record as favoring a proposed statute increasing the penalty for manufacture of intoxicating liquors in second offenses besides a proposed statute defining the term bootlegger. Three fourths of the seedling evergreen trees that are planted in the sand hills of Nebraska live and thrive.
