Sidney Municipal plant profits debated in Telegraph analysis
The Telegraph presents figures challenging the belief that Sidney’s municipal electric plant is a profitable city asset. It argues neglect by past councils to fund debt retirement and depreciation left the city $306,500 in debt, with a nonmodern plant requiring $50,000 for a new unit and potentially $200,000 more for boiler and expansion, casting doubt on claims of a profitable municipal venture.
