Christmas was celebrated in Sidney with Sunday school programs at the M K Sunday School, Lutheran, Episcopal, and Catholic churches. Recitations, music, tree lighting, and gift giving filled the day with joy as scholars and parishioners enjoyed special services and spiritual observances.
Mr and Mrs E McLernon hosted a Thursday high five party for about twenty five Sidney youths in honor of their son James home from Omaha. Six tables produced twelve games with Gent s first prize Fred Halston second Guy Doran consolation Chas Pettit ladies first Mattie Washburn second Kathrine Sharmer consolation Marjory Fuller. A six course luncheon followed in the McLernon home.
Miss Grace Hart, praised as a successful teacher at Kreuger school, hosted a Christmas Eve program with students and parents. Santa visited as gifts and memories flowed, including an album, a stand, a China cup and saucer, and candy and fruit for all. Teachers and families shared a festive evening in a packed, orderly hall.
