The University of Nebraska reports Nebraska's general business index up 3.2 percent from 1966 with 16 of 22 cities posting gains led by Fremont and Grand Island. Sidney shows a 6.3 percent rise while declines appear in Kearney York and North Platte. Retail sales rose 1.2 percent year over year but fell 3.7 percent from September 1967. Vandals Break Windows in Sidney Incidents

The Panhandle region faces mostly cloudy skies with occasional light snow this afternoon tonight and Saturday. Winds will be 15 to 20 mph tonight and Saturday with colder lows tonight five to 15 degrees and Saturday highs in the 20s. Snow chances: 10 percent this afternoon 40 tonight and 10 Saturday. Ice Cause in Sidney Auto Crashes
Three Sidney Police reports describe icy conditions causing impacts on parked cars and a slip with damage to two vehicles. Larry G Hawkins reported about 20 dollars damage to a parked car at 920 Elm after being hit by an unknown driver. ASCS Urges Wool Growers To File New Payments
Wool growers are urged to file applications for 1967 marketing year payments under the National Wool Act by January end. Payments cover wool and lambs for 1967 with an incentive level set to 66 cents per pound for shorn wool and related criteria. Payments start about April. marketings after December 31, 1967 count as 1968 transactions and qualify for 1969 payments.

Mrs. John A. Talich 81 died Wednesday at Memorial Hospital after five days as a patient. Funeral at 2 pm in Lodgepole Methodist Church with Rev. Hoffman and Rev. Stayton officiating. Burial at Pleasant View Cemetery. Survivors include three sons Ralph A Willis Dale and Lloyd By, sister Ada Lehmann, brother Harry Read, ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
