Governor McKelvie at Farmers' Meeting

Organized Agriculture met last Saturday at the county courthouse with a goodly number in attendance despite bad roads for their annual business meeting. Governor S R McKelvie arrived at noon over the Union Pacific to address the farmers. He was greeted by Sidney officials and taken to the Methodist church, where after a banquet he delivered a forceful, well received speech. The business session heard reports from the Farmers' Union and Bureau secretaries, discussed financing, and appointed three committees: Farm Bureau Organization, Financing County Union, and Resolutions. County Agent EH Gould presented his annual report and the farmers adopted a resolution to continue farm bureau work under current leadership. The group later enjoyed a banquet at the M E church before W W Wise of Lodgepole introduced C J Osborn, recently returned from the National Convention in Memphis, who spoke on a National Program.
