Centenarian Martindale Dies in Scottsbluff Nebraska
David J. Martindale a long time western Nebraska resident died at his Scottsbluff home on Saturday December 15 from pneumonia after a brief illness. Born February 6 1827 in Indiana he lived to 101 years 10 months and 9 days. Survived by a wife eight children with seven predeceased him and a sister in Missouri. Funeral services were held at Prohs parlors in Gering with Rev Seward and burial in Creighton valley cemetery southeast of Gering.

Father of Roy Jones Dies Here After Illness
Joel Wood Jones, father of Roy Jones of this city, died at his son’s home Saturday morning December 22 after years of illness. Born January 14, 1870 in Backberry Illinois, he married Ada Pugh in 1891 and had five children. He lived in Ulysses Nebraska, David City, and Ravenna before moving to Sidney two years ago. He was aged 58 years, 11 months, and eight days. He and Ada had ten grandchildren. He was noted for fine citizenship and strong character. Funeral services were held Monday.

Kimball County celebrated the dedication of its new 180000 dollar courthouse on Saturday. Thousands attended as Chairman John Baur presented the building to the people, with District Judge J L Tewell accepting the gift. Architect E L Goldsmith and builders Walter Knutzen and son oversaw the classic design, housing chief offices on the first floor and courtrooms with jail on the second. A banquet and dance followed the tours of the building.

Kimball Young Man To Captain Coyote Squad
Bus Rodman of Kimball, a University of Idaho sophomore, is named captain of the 1929 Coyote football eleven. Rodman, a guard on Ansel Cornell's team, helped the Coyotes win runner up honors in the Pacific Northwest Conference and played previously at left end before midseason switch to left guard.
