Mother of Dalton Banker Dies From Injuries
Emeline Ewing mother of Jesse Ewing president of Dalton State Bank and Edwin Ewing, prominent Dalton businessman, died December 17 1928 from pneumonia after a fall December 12 left her left leg fractured near the hip. Born 1850 in Fayette county Indiana she later lived in Exeter Nebraska before moving to Dalton four years ago. She was active in Methodist Episcopal church and charity work in Indiana and Exeter.

Hemington Family Injured When Car Overturns Near Sterling
Mr and Mrs Albert E Roth and their four year old son Harlan of Heming ton were injured in an automobile accident three miles north of Sterling Colorado when their Nash sedan left the road and overturned into an irrigation ditch. All occupants were badly cut, with Mr Roth the most seriously hurt.

Nebraska county officials push gasoline tax to fund roads
County commissioners and clerks at a Nebraska convention in Omaha urged a two cent increase in the state gasoline tax. One cent would fund county farm to market roads, the other for public works to hard surface or gravel main federal aid routes.
