Cheyenne Fire Tragedy Claims White Family Visitors

Five members of a visiting White family died in a Cheyenne hotel fire while Irene Patterson, a state capitol worker, endured shock. Miss Patterson, visiting from Chariton Iowa, had left the Interocean shortly before the blaze at midnight. Mr White leaped from a window and was electrocuted by downed electric lines as flames engulfed the building. Fire departments fought two blazes including Union Pacific paint shops, stretching resources and delaying response.
