Local families and friends enjoy a busy string of gatherings. Dennis Walsh and others visit relatives in California and Colorado. many attend church, library open houses, and Christmas events in Oshkosh, Sidney, Chappell, and nearby towns.
The American Medical Association warns of Christmas season hazards for children. Inspect lights for wear, remove brittle bulbs, keep glass ornaments and angel hair out of reach, choose safe toys, and ensure electrical toys are well wired. Accidents can happen in festive bustle.
Mount Vernon residents visit and host gatherings Friday through Monday. Bob Helzer Bryan and Mary Beth of North Platte joined Mrs CH Hammond for supper and attended the 10 OF and Rebekah Christmas program. Others called on neighbors and celebrated birthdays in the community.
