Two teenage boys Chester Matteucci age 16 from Lake Villa Illinois and Wallace Bolombeski age 17 from Wakefield Michigan faced trial in Omaha after pleading guilty before U S Commissioner Robert A Barlow in Sidney. They admitted stealing a car at Waukegan Illinois then driving to Wakefield and Two Harbors Minnesota where they took a second car and stripped its tires for sale. They were arrested at Big Springs and held by Sheriff John Glenn before transfer to Sidney.

In Cheyenne County two wells were abandoned last week. Olds Drilling Co quit Graff No 1 north of Dalton after drilling to 4 777 feet with 50 feet mud recovered and no gas or oil shows. Adams No 1 west Sidney field extension went to 5 224 feet with unproductive D and J sands and only a slight gas oil showing in the J.

Four Lions Clubs Meet For Banquet In Cheyenne County
The four Lions clubs met Thursday night in the Yendis Blue Room with about 100 members from Dalton Potter Sioux Ordnance Depot and Sidney. Potter club led the banquet and program featuring C. T. Young international chairman. Entertainment included group singing and the Little Dutch Band from Potter. Joe Schwartz of Potter coordinated arrangements.

Hospital Board To Meet In Cheyenne County
The Cheyenne County Hospital Association board meets tonight at 7 30 in the John Deere building to appoint a nominating committee and review permanent by laws. A five member panel is likely and the fifteen member board will be elected with the high fifteen certified. The election is set for Monday January 5 under the articles of incorporation. Winning Wheat Goes Into Baking Contest
Most of the samples of wheat from the 13 top winners in the Nebraska Wheat Show have been submitted for the state milling and baking contest in Lincoln. J. C. Swinvank says winning grain from three regions will undergo milling and baking analysis and scored by experts. The winner will receive a trophy at the Nebraska Crop Association annual meeting in North Platte on January 26.

Three Hurt In Accident Near Depot
Sidney High School students were among several hurt in a string of weekend crashes after Thursday snow. The Nebraska Highway Safety Patrol logged eight accidents, starting with a 1948 Diamond T gas truck near the Burlington viaduct, then a 1952 Chevrolet rollover south of the SOD main gate injuring three girls, and other collisions on Highway 30 and nearby roads with multiple injuries and modest vehicle damage.

Prisoner Is Free About Ten Hours
Robert D. Graham escaped from Cheyenne County Jail last August and again inside Idaho Falls authorities in November. He hid in the courthouse, stole unloaded guns and cash, then boarded a Greyhound bus to Cheyenne. He was free for about ten hours before Cheyenne police recaptured him Monday morning.
