House of Transfiguration Retreat in Bayard Nebraska
In Bayard Nebraska a large two story former sugar plant dormitory now serves as the House of Transfiguration a retreat house run by the Episcopal Diocese of Nebraska. Homer and Ralah Brown became wardens on March 1 1967 and have led renovation, aided by donors including Mrs C M Miller of Valentine. The facility sleeps 42 people in 55 rooms with chapel library and multiple lounges and is open to all faiths for retreats and seminars in a tranquil North Platte Valley setting.
