So Long Bears Move Westward From Sidney to Buffalo Bend
Mitz and Jill, two black Himalayan bears that stayed in Sidney for three and a half months, were moved to Buffalo Bend near Potter yesterday. The new site features a wire enclosure, a trout pond, and planned cages for bobcats, with Ed Bauman’s building and Stan Juelfs’ property included in the transfer. The transfer occurred without incident as the bears boarded a truck and entered sturdy cages. Both females, the animals are set in a block-walled area with concrete floors and huts under reinforced steel bars.

Police report Wesley M Felt of 2434 Coronado Court and Roy F Brim of Mayfair Courts collided on East Illinois Street yesterday around 4 pm.
