The winter FLAME magazine reports progress of Western Nebraska Tech at Sidney and Central Nebraska Tech at Hastings. Enrollment at Western Nebraska Tech nears 250 with aviation mechanics emerging as a key field, including a Cessna 195 and a student-built airplane. Hastings school serves 1,034 students and offers 27 courses across five divisions, with dental assisting and electronic data processing among popular programs. Both schools draw strong local support and aim to curb youth outmigration by supplying trained workers for regional industry.
