Worn-Out Vehicles Challenge Nebraska Vehicle Inspection
In western Nebraska farmers fear the new compulsory motor vehicle inspection law, effective January 1, may affect aged trucks and 1940s to 1950s farm equipment often driven on rural roads. Many cannot afford new gear, rely on repairs, and seek exemptions for farm-use vehicles that occasionally travel on public highways. The issue echoes farm price pressures and a struggling implement trade noted by a leader in Ogallala.
