Chairman Mrs Elizabeth Schwasnick reports the campaign has raised 525 dollars to date with a goal still distant. The National Tuberculosis Association funds nationwide TB research and local use keeps six percent of each dollar, while the Sidney Business and Professional Women's Club sponsors the local seal sale.

Olson and Agnew Won’t Seek Reelect to Sidney School Board

Two long time Sidney School Board members Albin Olson and Kenneth Agnew announced they will not run for reelection next spring. Olson has served 26 years and Agnew 22. Their departure opens seats on the school board and city council as elections approach in April.

Two In City Crashes Cause $700 Damage in Sidney

Two Sidney crashes within minutes caused more than 700 in damage, though no injuries were reported. At 12 07 p m on King Street and 15th Avenue James Kaus 23 and Ken McMillen 17, both of Sidney, collided causing about 600 in damage. A second incident at 12 10 p m when Alta Loch slid into Harry Hofer’s car left over 100 in damage on icy pavement after Hofer stopped for a sign.

Heaton Law Firm Plans Office Relocation

P. J. Heaton Sr. and his son announced a move of Heaton & Heaton to the building on Tenth Ave across from the courthouse. The site, formerly Hutchinson Heating Plumbing, is being remodeled for the firm. Heaton has run a print office at 846 Tenth Ave for 24 of 25 years in Cheyenne County.

North Central Gas to Expand with Abandoned Line Acquisition

North Central Gas Co announced a half million dollar expansion including the acquisition of an abandoned 12 and 16 inch line from Northport west to Mitchell. Plans call for a new six inch main from Scottsbluff to Gering and a three inch line to serve east Gering with work starting in December to boost valley fuel supply. Kansas Nebraska also built a line from Deuel County to Alliance, crossing North Central near Northport.

Snyder Rites Held In Potter Nebraska

Funeral services for William R. Snyder 81 were held in Potter this afternoon with Rev. O. D. Hoagland officiating. Heart failure caused his death at Memorial Hospital. Surviving are his wife Estella Leap Snyder, six children, two sisters, and several in laws and grandchildren. Craig Mortuary directed arrangements.

Faulty Glass To Be Changed At Hospital

Cheyenne County Memorial Hospital will replace faulty window glass soon as the contractor finishes remaining incomplete construction items. A federal final inspection is expected after the new year to release remaining aid funds. State health auditors will conduct a preliminary survey next week. Administrator Frank Harris reported occupancy is fairly heavy with 42 patients and 12 babies as of Thursday.

Stars of Tomorrow Winners Shine at Sidney Show

A ten year old tap dancer Dar lene Takahashi from Sioux Ordnance Depot won the Grand Championship at the Stars of Tomorrow show. Prizes included $75 for the top award with $50 for runner ups and $35 to under twelve standout Ernestine Childers. Judges from out-of-town praised the performances as 135 finalists entertained at the Junior High School Auditorium with Don Newberg as show chairman.
