Home Gift Certificate Suggested To Aid Sidney Families
Sidney residents are urged to consider a home gift certificate or savings plan as a Christmas gift. John H. Schoul of the Tri County Real Estate Board says a bank savings book or $10 bill pledged for a home down payment could start a family on a path to homeownership. He notes FHA rules could allow a $13,000 home with a down payment as low as $750, and stresses regular saving over the form of the saving. The proposal ties Christmas traditions to practical steps toward owning a home before 1956.
