Graveside Services For Ida Mae Ogden
Ida Mae Ogden 68 of Wymore Nebraska died last Wednesday in a Beatrice hospital. Graveside rites were conducted at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Howard Osborne officiating. Burial beside her husband who died in 1927 and her parents. Cheyenne County tax receipts in November set new records according to County Treasurer Herbert Stevens. Total payments reached $353,883.07 with an average daily intake of $14,745.12 and 37 percent of the anticipated $957,794.90. A total of 2,225 receipts were issued, averaging $159.05 each, as farmers pay multiple taxes early. The largest single day exceeded $80,000, aided by payments from two railroad lines.

Sewer Bond Ordinance Up Tonight
A bond ordinance will be presented to the city council for passage tonight calling for the issuance of approximately 170 thousand dollars in bonds to pay for the new sewage disposal plant and for sanitary sewer line extension in Districts 10 through 15. The plant is nearly complete with a cyclone fence now needed for Trespass protection. Engineering is by Fulton and Kramer and bonds handled by Kirkpatrick and Pettis. The project aims at a modern plant serving about ten thousand people, funded by a sewer service charge based on winter water usage.

Veteran Carman On U. P. Asks For Retirement
W. E. Davis of 1135 7th Ave Sidney a Union Pacific carman has filed for railroad retirement pay. A Sidney native he began as carpenter helper in 1907, later worked 1908 with City Light Plant, 1910 1918 with Sidney Lumber Co, returned to UP as carman helper in 1918 and served as carpenter car inspector and carman until retirement. He married Mary Anderson on January 1 1911 and their children include William a UP engineer Clifford in Springfield Mass Mrs Lois Lamb Lindberg Wyo and Andy a Sidney baker. He belongs to the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen of America.

Pioneer Lady Anna Anderson Dies at 89 in Broadwater
Anna Anderson aged 89 longtime Broadwater resident died Tuesday. She was mother to Mrs. Earl McConnell who lives near Dalton. McConnell’s mother, a pioneer settler in the area, had died a week earlier and was buried Sunday.

A Sidney traffic survey reviewed by City Council members J. E. Johnston and 8. W. Stout recommends uniform signal heads for pedestrians at 10th Avenue and Illinois Street, amber lens between signal phases, and timed cycles for east west and north south traffic along Illinois and 10th. It also proposes flashing amber and red signals during off peak hours, weekend restrictions on turns, fixed timed signals at 5th and 11th Avenues, a semi actuated signal at 13th Avenue with push buttons, an ordinance regulating speeds on U S 30 within city limits with posted limits 25 to 35 mph, and standard octagonal stop signs throughout Sidney.
