SHS Grapplers Start Season in Fort Collins and Greeley
Sidney High wrestling opens the season traveling to Fort Collins Poudre tonight at 7 30 and to Greeley Central Saturday at 2 p m. Last season under Coach Mines the team went 8 2 1 in duals and placed fourth in the state tournament. 140 lb Rich Slocum aims to extend his 23 match win streak including a state title at 133.

Coyotes Open Season With Lodgepole Saturday
The Potter Coyotes host Lodgepole Panthers to begin the 1966-67 basketball season with Phil Cronk as new coach and Bob Howell as his assistant. Veteran Duke Anderson and Bob Ottoson lead a senior core, while juniors Bill Nish Rick Larson and guards Ron Kiel and Chris Olson compete for spots. Five rookies Dave Johnson Andy Etchebarren Larry Haney Eddie Watt and Gene Brabender appeared for the 1966 Baltimore Orioles in fillers. Emerson Boozer of the Jets raced 39 yards for a TD against the Oilers in his second AFL carry. Clyde Devine of San Carlos Calif officiated in the AFL NFL and All America Conference since starting in 1938 in the Pacific Coast Conference.
