St Pauls Walther League sponsors a chili supper and the one act play The Hangmans Loose on Sunday December 4 at 5 30 p m in the Fellowship hall at 15th and Osage. A free will offering will be taken and the public is invited to attend.
The West Nebraska Nurses Association hosts events with a 7 p.m. dinner at Dude's Steak House on Tuesday December 6 and another 7 p.m. fundraiser at Fort Sidney Motor Hotel on Tuesday December 13 supporting the Cheyenne County March of Dimes chapter.

New owners of the TV Motel east of Sidney are Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Hurt formerly of Albion Nebraska. The Hurts and their three children arrived this week and took possession on Thursday. Former owners Mrs. Helen Stovall and Mrs. Myrtle Durham move to Fort Collins Colorado. Hurt was manager of a Feed Mill at Albion prior to coming to Sidney.
December birthdays at Memorial Rest Home in Sidney include Mamie Beyer on December 12 and John Billeter on December 25. The notices list residents with ages 81 and 87 respectively.
Duplicate Bridge Four tables were in play Wednesday evening November 30 at the Sidney group. First place went to Mrs J R Gilliland and Mrs James Keating, second to Mrs Frances Doran and Mrs Clyde Cameron, third to Mr and Mrs Bill Yester. Master points will be awarded at the next meeting December 7. All bridge players are welcome. The group meets each Wednesday at 7 30 in the basement of the Marathon Office building.
A delay in equipment delivery has canceled the December 5 opening of the Teen Center per manager Don Challburg. Officials hope to be ready by Saturday December 10, with updates to follow.
A complaint filed in Cheyenne County Court accuses Karen G. Martinosky of Sidney of procuring liquor for a minor. The case, filed by prosecutor John Peetz Jr, notes she allegedly sold beer to 18 year old Gary Ammerman of Sidney on or about November 27. She appeared Nov 30 before Judge Sydney G. Finch. case continued at defense request. She was released on her own recognizance. Ammerman pleaded guilty to being a minor in possession of alcohol and was fined 150 dollars plus 8 dollars in costs.
