13-Year Old Boy Shot While Hunting Near Brownson
A 13-year old Sioux Village boy was shot in the foot while hunting with companions near Brownson last Friday afternoon. Joe Meyers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Meyers, was brought to Sidney for treatment and then to Cheyenne for bone surgery. The gun, held by 13-year old Joe Apodeca of Brownson, discharged as the ground froze and the bullet glanced into Meyers foot about a half mile south of the Sioux Ordnance Depot overpass on U.S.S. 30.
