Railroad to Build Trestle as 13th Ave Crossing Is Replaced
Union Pacific will begin a temporary trestle at 13th Ave crossing in January to carry trains during excavation for a half million dollar underpass. Two large girders arrived to form the trestle and anchor the permanent structure. The project follows a bond approval to pay half the condemnation costs and aims to connect Sidney’s north side with the rest of the town. The underpass is not expected to open until late in the year.

Charges possible against motorist
County law agents discussed filing charges against Lavan T. Sneith 41 of Sidney after his 1950 model car went off Highway 30 one mile west of Ladgepole around 10 p.m. Wednesday.
