Man Stranded in Flooded Car Near Gurley
Ron Barker spent two and a half hours trapped in a washed off car in a six foot ditch after a cloudburst on a county road near Gurley. Rescued first by Mrs Floyd Miller and her daughter, then by Ted Egging, he remained afloat in waist deep water as flood surged past. The episode followed a separate car swap involving Gene Warren's Thunderbird and a repurposed dry cleaner vehicle. Barker described the water roaring like Niagara Falls and narrowly avoiding a worse outcome.
