Calves Sell at Rudy's 4-H Auction Grand and Reserve Champions
Rudy's Market bought both the grand champion and reserve champion baby beeves at the 4-H auction this afternoon. The grand champ sold for 47.50 per hundredweight and the reserve champ fetched 40 per hundredweight.

A colorful float with kites and balloons won first in the artistic division. The entry titled The Newest Frontier The Atmosphere was built by Karen, Raymond and Stella Oliverius and Sally Warner. The four sang Lets Go Fly a Kite as they pulled their float along Jackson Street. First in humorous division went to a large covered wagon entered by DeAnn and Lorie Rathbun, Jan and Sam Cunningham, and Doug, Judy, Chris and Gail Bolin. Prizes ranged from five to twenty five dollars with 800 youngsters attending the Fox Theatre movie after a warm day of events.

Huge Balloon Sighting Over Sidney At 54 000 Feet
A silvery object was tracked moving eastward over Sidney. FAA identified a 107 foot diameter balloon with a 1 750 foot payload line. It hovered around 54 000 55 000 feet and may carry weather or altitude instruments to be released during the day.

Police Acted Properly in Sidney Arrest Case Says State Assn
Four young women selling magazines in Sidney after an incident with Cheyenne County sheriffs officers led to warnings about door to door sales. The Police Officers Assn of Nebraska said two Sidney police officers acted properly in arresting Clarence Bills, who faced assault and battery suit while the city ordered investigation.
