Union District Sunday School Convention at Herdon Aug 29 1906

The Union District Sunday school convention meets at Herdon with morning and afternoon sessions led by Rev. J. Leumer Miss Anna Gunderson Miss Irving Miss Laura Adams and others. Programs include devotional exercises county convention report Bible in Sunday school cradle roll and discussions on attendance and pledge drives. Closing exercises chaired by Mrs. C D Essty.

Death of Redington area resident W P Claypool

Former Redington precinct resident W P Claypool died of heart trouble Tuesday night between nine and ten. He lived with his wife and two children Edna when the attack occurred. He rose to go outside for air and asked for help as he struggled to swallow water saying goodbye. Funeral services were held at the family home with burial in Oblong cemetery under Masonic auspices. Mr C H Stockdale of Leigh Nebraska visited the town.

Sidney Lodge Mourns Loss of J C Neubauer

At a regular meeting on August 138 1906 Sidney Lodge No 911 C C F adopted resolutions praising the late J C Neubauer for his aid to the distressed and his upright life. The lodge extends heartfelt sympathy to his family and will transmit copies to the family and Sidney newspapers. Also noted is local real estate and construction news about E P Osgood purchasing Mrs Carlys two story stone dwelling and Chas Callahan planning a new fire proof building on the Powell and Whitner site after a recent fire.
