William Clithero Dies of Heart Attack at 57
William W. Clithero, 57, Sidney transfer man, dropped dead at his home Tuesday evening from a heart attack. He had appeared in good health earlier that day after arriving from Kimball ten months ago to start a drag line business. Funeral services were held at Rice funeral home with Kimball and Sidney clergy assisting, and burial planned in York. He is survived by his wife, father, and one brother.

Women Project Groups to Receive Summary of Work
Local women active in the womans project clubs of the extension service will get an official summary of last year’s reports to Miss Florence Atwood. County Agent D Willey will send the summaries next week, ahead of the season’s first meeting for project leaders. Clubs not yet reached should select leaders and notify the agent so dates and locations can be shared. Women not in a club may join or form one. lessons are monthly and free, taught by a Lincoln extension service specialist with two leaders per club, who then share the lessons locally.

Porcupine Near Death In Blazing Stubble
A full grown porcupine was found breathing its last Wednesday in a burning stubble field north of Potter, on land farmed by Guy V. Doran. The animal was heavily burned and unable to defend itself. The origin of the porcupine is unknown, with possible sightings only in the Wildcat mountain range. A farmer reported hog quills from a porcupine but the hog was not found. It is likely the same porcupine in both incidents.

Confesses More Parking Holdups In Nebraska and Colorado
Clyde J. Ague, labeled parking bandit, was moved to Canon City penitentiary by Logan county sheriff Powell. Before departure from the Logan jail he talked freely and admitted several stickups in western Nebraska. He initially said he had not robbed before Sterling but later recanted.

Mrs K D Bassett Undergoes Emergency Surgery in Denver
Mrs K D Bassett underwent an emergency operation for acute appendicitis at Presbyterian Hospital in Denver on Wednesday afternoon. She fell ill Tuesday night while returning from Idaho Springs, Colorado, where she spent the summer. Mr Bassett accompanied her. she is reported to be improving nicely.

Burial rites return this week for Mrs Bayliff’s kin
Mrs Jim Vach of the west Gurley district has returned from Yuma Colorado after attending the death and burial of her mother Mrs J D Bayliff. Bayliff had been ill for months and recently came home from Denver hospital. She died August 11 and was buried August 14 at Yumia.
