Fair Clean Up To Start Tomorrow At Cheyenne County Fair
The Cheyenne County Fair grounds begin a pre fair clean up with 17 4 H clubs sending at least one member each. Last year they added a concrete apron near the livestock watering area and this year new paint is planned. The Devils Motor Club of Sidney repainted buildings to obtain permission for stock car races on Sunday at the grounds track.

The Sioux Ordnance Depot launches its annual Employee Contribution Fund drive Monday with 11 agencies benefited. More than 80 Sidney public and parochial teachers have been invited by the Sidney Chamber of Commerce to participate in Business Education Day on Friday August 31. About 20 Sidney businesses will sponsor four or five teachers with breakfasts at the Junior High School Cafeteria followed by guided tours of local firms. Chamber Manager M R Sigler said all participating businesses sponsoring tours and teachers have been fined up. This annual event is a well supported chamber program.

$310 Stolen From Sid ney Station
A thief broke into Ted's Chevron Station at 13th Ave and Illinois St last night. The intruder removed cash and card receipts from a soft drink machine, totaling about $310.56, with no other damage reported. Police identify the robber as knowing the money was stored in the machine.

A 15 year old boy who escaped Cheyenne City Jail early last night was captured in Sidney around 2 a.m. He admitted stealing a 1952 automobile in Cheyenne around 8:30 p.m. and driving it to Sidney where three youths later recovered the car key and alerted police.
