Annual Potato Tour of West Nebraska Counties
The western Nebraska potato tour sponsored by the University of Nebraska College of Agriculture began in Kimball on Monday and ended in Alliance after inspections across Kimball Banner Scotts Bluff Morrill Box Butte and Dawes counties. The group visited potato fields, stayed overnight in Scottsbluff, and proceeded through Scotts Bluff Dawes Box Butte and Dawes counties with county agent guidance.

Sidney students advance home project in vocational agriculture
Prof J W Nielsen says home projects form the core of the local high school's vocational agriculture curriculum. Educational unit at fair grounds under construction
Construction on the Cheyenne county fair grounds educational exhibit building began Tuesday. Sidney contractors Ericson & Daniel won the bid for 1775 dollars and 55 cents and expect completion before fair opening September 11 to 14. The 40 by 60 foot structure will house educational exhibits and match existing buildings. Hog exhibition pavillion work nears finish as premium lists are printed. Additional improvements aim to improve crowd handling and exhibit display for a larger county fair.

Restaurant Looting Suspect Held After Jack Cafe Break In
Local authorities hold a man named C R McCullum for investigation in connection with a Wednesday morning looting of Jack cafe. Others tied to the theft have been released. a young woman is also under investigation. Entry was gained by forcing the rear door and cutting the screen. Proceeds included 14 dollars and 90 cents, merchandise, and a cooked meal before the suspects fled. McCullum is also suspected in a related rooming house theft.
