Sidney police judge faces larceny charge in primaries
Guy E. Clark Sidney police judge and county judge candidate pleaded not guilty to larceny and was bound over to district court on $500 bond after waiving preliminary hearing. He allegedly stole a 50 gallon barrel of inseed oil worth $60 from Union Pacific on July 6. Robert F. Ekstrom, U P employee, also pleaded not guilty to embezzlement, bound over on $1,000 bond, failed to post bond, and remained in jail.

Lyle Pearson seven, son of Mr. and Mrs L A Pearson, was instantly killed on the Lincoln highway at Sunol while crossing from the elevator. At the fourth quarterly conference of the Sidney Methodist church Rev. William Kilburn was invited to return as pastor next year with a higher salary. He has led the charge for two years, with $6000 of church debt paid off this year, $4000 from subscriptions and $2000 from the Ladies Aid. Dr. Fintel of Alliance offered him three western Nebraska churches. Kilburn will attend the state annual conference September 17 for appointment decisions.

Bigger and Better Cheyenne County Harvest Festival Planned
Plans for a bigger and better Cheyenne County Harvest Festival are taking shape with a two day event on Friday October 10 featuring a countywide school parade and a livestock day on Saturday.
