Mrs W J Perry and Mrs Anna Pettitt of Elm Creek Nebraska depart Wednesday for the western coast. They plan visits in Cass r, Thermopolis Spokane Portland San Francisco Los Angeles and Pasadena with relatives Chas Perry and Eugene Clausen. A short stay with Mrs George R Lee in Salt Lake City is planned on the return. They expect to be away about a month.

Hotel Man Injured When Automobile Upsets at Junction
Sidney hotel proprietor Tong Wycick sustained severe lacerations and bruises after his coupe overturned at a bridge junction on highway No. 19 south of Sidney and crashed into Leo Ogborn’s Studebaker. Twelve stitches were needed for a deep wound to Hycick’s left hand. Ogborn’s car suffered left-side damage but did not overturn. Witnesses said Hycick’s car suddenly capsized across the road and struck the other vehicle. Ogborn drove to town with Hycick for medical care.

11 Year Old Boy Dies After Horse Kick
An 11 year old boy, son of Mr and Mrs Homer Cain of Funk Nebraska, died after a horse kicked him in the head at farm of T A Toonser in Crook area. He was visiting Bowser families during vacation. He died in a Sterling Colorado hospital after skull crushed. Body returned to Funk for funeral arrangements.

Boston August 10 Sacco and Vanzetti narrowly escaped the electric chair as Governor Fuller granted a reprieve to midnight August 22, delaying their execution while the state supreme court decides if their case will return to court Celestine Madeiros also spared though tied to a separate crime. The trio were notified by Warden Hendry at 11 27 pm after a day of tense hearings and rushed delivery of the reprieve document from the statehouse.
