Wolfe Family Pioneers Lodgepole History to 1920s
A history of Lodgepole’s early settlers centers on the Wolfe family from 1880. Jim Wolfe, his bride Clare Morrison, and companions helped establish the town, its school in a dugout, a tunnel for Indian scares, and early enterprises. The Old Settlers picnic began 1924, growing into a major annual event with games, parades, and communal gatherings.
