City Sells Revenue Bonds With Low Interest Rates
The City of Sidney sold 770 000 dollars in revenue bonds to fund power and sewage projects. Kirkpatrick Pettis of Omaha bid the lowest rates at 3.3017 percent for electric bonds and 3.18945 percent for sewage bonds. Union Pacific will contribute 33 000 toward earthen drainage near the city and 100 000 toward the 13th Ave underpass, with remaining costs shared for drainage and dam work.

Youthful auto thief captured after high speed chase in Sidney
Kenneth Imel aged 18 of Rapid City was arrested at Sidney busy intersection after a police chase reaching near 100 mph. He stole a red and cream 1953 car in Lincoln Monday and fled east on Highway 30 with accomplices Joseph White-Eagle and Alexander Slaughton. Imel surrendered at the Illinois Street traffic light and was jailed on check warrants in Ogallala.

Keen Teens Plan Car Wash Project
Keen Teens, a Sidney youth recreation group formed at a Sidney High School meeting, plans a car wash on Saturday at the Hahler parking lot from 9 am to 5 pm in conjunction with Dollar Days. Cars wash for $1. Nearly 50 teenagers attended as committees reported and a new student membership rule through grade 12 was adopted. The next meeting is August 14 at 7 30 pm in the Elks Club Judge room with plans for a fashion show on August 31.

Rudolph Pool Well Test Shows Oil and Water Production
Drillers on the Rudolph Field No. 1 well reported a 90 foot oil and 490 foot water flow from the upper B sand at 4,779 to 4,791 feet with gas appearing in 59 minutes. A D sand core was taken yesterday showing signs of possible future production. The Scherer No 1 wildcat near Sidney resumed after an 18 hour delay, drilling at 4,050 feet.
