Colorado Woman Dies in Route 19 Crash Near Sidney
A Colorado woman died and three others were hospitalized after the fifth wreck in three weeks at the Route 19 y intersection, one mile south of Sidney. Mary Ellen Asbury 24 of Rifle died. three companions were admitted in critical condition. Carolyn Y White 20 of Carr suffered concussion and a dislocated hip. Merle J Mathews 28 of Denver and Rosetta V Larkins 24 address unknown sustained multiple injuries and concussions. Continued hospital updates reported Mathews and Larkins in satisfactory condition while White remained serious but improving. Police noted four seat belts were unused as the car skidded 30 feet then rolled three times, authorities said. Mary Ellen Asbury active in LaPorte born June 1 1943 employed by Warneke Paper Box Co in Denver. Funeral services planned for Rifle.
