Jesse Jackson son of Mr and Mrs E L Jackson from Redondo Beach California rises as a swimmer after placing second in two events at a seaside water meet with world class rivals. Vosburg of Chicago won the fifty yard dash while Raithel led the hundred yard dash with Jackson close behind. Sylvester of Los Angeles finished ahead of Jackson for second by a narrow tape finish. Electric service plant sold to the city Sidney Neb
At a July 26 1915 special meeting the Sidney Nebraska village trustees approved acquiring the Sidney Electric Service Company property including pipeline and office equipment. The plan uses bonds valued at 17 500 dollars and 5 000 dollars at 40 and 45 cent on the dollar respectively, forming a liquidation fund with no new tax levy. Pending plant completion the village will operate the Service Company plant and set a maximum rate of twelve cents per kilowatt hour with a 5 percent discount if paid within ten days.
