Chautauqua in Sidney Nebraska runs August 10 through 14. Cheyenne County Teachers Institute in Sidney August 5 to 9. Cheyenne County Fair and Race meeting in Sidney September 18 to 21.
The Cheyenne County Fair and Race Meet will be held in Sidney Nebraska from September 18 to 21 1912. The event promises large crowds with agricultural exhibits irrigation demonstrations bucking and roping contests and aviation flights by Robert B Fowler in a Wright biplane on September 20 and 21. Admission rises from 25 to 50 cents for weekend days due to the airship contract.
John D. Briggs and Sarah Keller of Denver were married by Rev. E. J. Hayes at the Olean on Monday July 29. The groom, in the December of life, appeared young at heart despite age.
John C. Beyer and Ivan Bayne, both residents near Sidney, were married at the Catholic Church on Tuesday morning, July 30, with Father Kampman performing the ceremony.

A A Rudd started construction Thursday on a seven room modern house on recently purchased lots from Leo Osborn. The site lies a block west of the L O Fundingsland home.
Joseph Oberfelder returned Wednesday from Grand Island and Aurora. He served as a delegate to the Democratic convention and attended meetings of the Grand Finance committee of the A. O. U. W. and of the Health and Accident Insurance Association.
Mrs. Scanlon went to Denver last Friday night and returned Saturday night with her husband who wished to be at home. He has been bedfast all week, suffers no pain, and has a poor appetite. He remains weak but is holding his own remarkably well for such a sick man.

Colonel T B Dawson celebrated his seventy fifth birthday on Thursday August 1 with a city-wide shower of greetings. Post office cards, a white three tier cake, and sweet peas marked the day. A telegram from his son Fred and an Odd Fellows gathering added to the surprise, as Mrs Dawson hosted a lavish three course lunch.

The event highlighted the host's grandson William T Miles who showed special affection for Vera.
Mrs F C Beebe hosted a refined one o clock three course luncheon on Wednesday afternoon. High five dominated games with Mrs Jack Sager winning first prize and Mrs Swatzlander taking the consolation prize.

Lyle Lough of Lodgepole died Wednesday night from injuries after a horse kicked him in the stomach days earlier. He was nineteen, living with his parents three miles south of Lodgepole. The funeral was held Friday.

The Frontier Committee has completed the program for the sixteenth annual Frontier Days at Cheyenne. The festival starts August 14 and continues the rest of the week with a record variety of Frontier sports. Prizes total several thousand dollars and include many amateur and professional events. Copies of the program and illustrated literature will be sent to interested readers.
Mrs J L McIntosh entertained at dinner Saturday evening as a compliment to Mrs Stewitts. The re decorated home served as a christening of the new wall decorations. Guests included Mrs Stewitts Dr Mantor Dr Beebe Mr and Mrs J J McIntosh Miss Grace and Mr and Mrs J T McIntosh.

The county fair premium book, edited by Secretary C. P. Chambers, is being printed and will total thirty six pages. It will be distributed to every county farmer, funded by local business ads from The American Bank Sidney Ice and Cold Storage Co. and many others.
