Sidney Police report two traffic incidents at 13th Street. Ronald E. Maul of Sidney rammed a cliff at 1 a.m. injuring a leg and causing about 500 dollars of damage to his 1960 Mercury. Earlier, at 4:42 a.m., a collision at 13th and Illinois damaged a Lodgepole car by about 119 dollars when a 1949 GMC truck rear ended it.

Caterpillar Bites Cause Infected Hand
Brian Draper seven son of Mr and Mrs La Verne Draper suffered caterpillar bites on his hand after playing with a yellow fuzzy caterpillar. The hand swelled and fluids were treated by a doctor. The caterpillar was kept in a glass jar for observation as the family jokes about rabies.

Area Search Underway For Young Thief
A 25 year old blonde man suspected of stealing a 1960 Pontiac near Cheyenne Wyoming earlier today prompted an area wide search. The car was abandoned five miles south of Potter after a gas stop at a service station at 4 15 a m. Police joined by sheriff and Sidney officers pursued leads but no results by 1 p m. The man is described as five six, wearing a dark shirt and possibly footbound. He was last seen in Potter.

Route 30 Group Invites Senators To Next Meeting
OGALLALA All candidates for state senator in districts along U S Highway 30 will be invited to the Highway 30 association meeting in Lexington. The Sept meeting was decided by the group's directors in Ogallala. The aim is to push for turning U S 30 into a four lane Nebr highway. A committee studying the Interstate system reported the old two lane highway carries less traffic than the superhighway across nearby states. With rising travel the old road will be inadequate. About 20 directors from Sidney to Blair attended Hokes Cafe. They opposed commercial use of roadside facilities along Interstate 80. The next directors meeting is Sept 20 at Johnson Lake in Lexington at 3 p m CST. Marl Morrow arranged the Ogallala meeting.

Annex Approved For Junior High Cafeteria in Sidney
At a special meeting Monday the Sidney board of education approved a bid for a 20 by 20 foot annex to the Junior High School cafeteria. Nienhueser Construction Co was the low bidder at about $4,700. The annex will hold the freezer two coolers and other equipment and will expand cafeteria space. It will be located on the north side of the cafeteria.
