Bunker Hillbillies Start as 1965 School Club in District 76
The Bunker Hillbillies began in 1965 as a District 76 school club led by Mrs. Marvin MecNurlin. In 1968 Dennis Larson took over, turning it into a livestock club with 16 members led by Larson, Sorge and Kuehn. Members pursued beef and hog projects, exhibited livestock at the fair, and earned top ribbons. The club planned a Spring Party booth with each member taking turns. A girls subsidiary, the Bunker Hill Jills, was organized by Mrs. Art Borcher with four members focusing on sewing and cooking and also exhibiting at the fair.
