At a special meeting in Denver on April 23 stockholders of Colorado Western Exploration Inc unanimously approved a merger with Consolidated Rimrock Oil Corp. The new entity will be Consolidated Oil & Gas Inc. The president, Harry A Trueblood Jr, announced that by May 1 all merger formalities will be completed and stockholders will exchange old certificates for new ones. Consolidated Oil & Gas Inc will remain a Colorado corporation with offices in the United States National Bank Building in Denver.
The Western Plains Concrete Masonry Association holds its spring meeting at the Fort Sidney Motor Hotel with 20 to 30 block manufacturers from South Dakota Montana Wyoming Colorado and Nebraska expected. A city tour will inspect local concrete masonry buildings followed by business sessions and film showcases. Representatives from the Nebraska Concrete Masonry Association the Portland Cement Association and the Great Western Aggregate Association will share ideas and a hotel dinner will close the program.
Gordon Wesner Jr. blamed an alligator after crashing into another car in Brazil Indiana. Police found a three foot alligator in Wesner's station wagon that had crawled from a box he was transporting to a biology class at DePauw University where he serves as a student teacher.
