In Antelope Nebraska on April 16 1876 an eight member party of Indians approached Harkison and Griffins rancho at night and removed eight horses from the premises including one borrowed from Mr Branegan and another left by a guest. Lieutenant IE Crawford of Company G Third U S Cavalry led forty three men in pursuit with seven days' rations hoping to capture the raiders before they reach the barracks.
Letter from the second assistant postmaster general states an act of congress in 1870 establishes a post road in Nebraska from Sidney via Snyder's rancho Snake Creek and Red Cloud to Custer City. The Sidney post office urges immediate service initiation for this route with postmaster G W Dudley presenting the notice.
A large assortment arrives at Currigan's offering a complete stack of dry goods. A separate note describes a large and complete stock of dry goody just received at McDonald's.

The tabulated items reflect market rates with cents per unit and pounds per item, typical of a mid 19th or early 20th century town market list.
