Farm Fire Near Sunol Destroys Sheds and Hogs
A fast moving fire at Clyde Johnson farm six miles northwest of Sunol on Monday damaged multiple outbuildings and killed seven of 35 hogs. Lodgepole and Sidney fire crews fought flames from 11 a.m. with teams from two towns, using 6000 gallons of water. The blaze also scorched a family car and damaged a chicken house, barn, and hay. The cause remains undetermined though sun glare near trash may have started it.

Commanding Officer's Home Opens After Fort Sidney Restoration
The Cheyenne County Historical Association marks the official opening of the Commanding Officer's Home at Fort Sidney with weekend tours. The Panhandle region expects partly cloudy skies tonight with a chance of a few thunder showers. Thursday shows partly cloudy conditions with occasional showers and cooler temperatures. An estimated 300 delegates from throughout the state are expected to attend the two day annual state convention of the PEO Sisterhood in Sidney Tuesday and Wednesday, April 25 and 26. Meetings will be at the Trinity Lutheran Church and will be climaxed by a banquet Wednesday evening in St Patrick's Youth Center.
