Sidney Irish Trackmen Enter Western Nebraska Meet at Scottsbluff
Sidney high school’s 16 man track squad travels to the Western Nebraska meet in Scottsbluff with preliminaries at 9 30 a m on Saturday. Five Class 1 teams and eight Group II squads compete. McCook Triangular entrants join the field. Final events wrap in the morning with two mile and mile relays, then an afternoon program starting at 1 30 p m. Entry lists include Beyers Pip pitt Merry and Cutright among others with Panhandle records noted for several events.

Sidney Juniors Lose Dual Track Meet to Alliance
Sidney junior high track teams led by Sandy Wafford and Glenn Ackerson fall to Alliance 692/5 to 684 in the first dual meet of the season. George Siders wins two in 50 yard dash and 440, with Reisner and Anthony placing in several events. Schmidt sweeps freshman sprints, Hill close in hurdles, and Sidneys rivals post strong relays and field marks as next week may see a home dual or move to Gering.

Lodgepole Wins First Track Meet At Dix With 59 Points
Lodgepole under coach Duane Freeman opened the season with a 59 point triangular win at Dix, Potter placing second with 45 and Dix 44. Keith Wise led Lodgepole with wins in the 100 and 220, Theis took both broad jump and shot, Hokom won the 880, and Lodgepole captured the half mile relay. Freeman plans to take four boys to the Western Nebraska meet in Scottsbluff and next week compete in the Lodgepole Valley meet at Sidney.
